Dawn of the Maya is a Spanish metalcore band formed in Pamplona in 2006.
history
Dawn of the Maya was founded in 2006 in the Spanish city of Pamplona. The group signed a contract with the Spanish label Fragment Records , which released the debut EP Sour Soul Never Dies in 2007. The debut album Me, the Planet was released in 2010, also via Fragment Records.
In 2011 the group played at the Resurrection Fest in Vivero . In April the band played with Bleed from Within . The band has also played with the Portuguese band More Than A Thousand . Between February and May the group played shows in Vigo , Saragossa , Barcelona , Madrid , Valencia , La Coruña and Burgos .
On December 12, 2012, the second album entitled The Truth is In Front of You , which was recorded at Metal Factory Studios, was released. For August 2013 the group has been confirmed again for the Resurrection Fest.
style
The group plays classic metalcore , which is influenced by bands such as Underoath , Bring Me the Horizon , While She Sleeps and The Devil Wears Prada . At El Portal del Metal the post-hardcore band Attack Attack! named as a musical influence.
The texts, which deal with the Spanish culture , mythology and the love for nature, are mainly written in the English language .
