The DeWalt Tools 300 is a NASCAR Nationwide Series car race held at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton , Georgia . It was held for the first time in 1992, at that time still on the old track configuration of the Atlanta Motor Speedway. From 1992 to 1999 it was a distance of 300 miles. In 2000 it was renamed Aaron's 312 , but it did not cover a distance of 312 miles, but 313 miles or 203 laps. The race name Aaron's 312 is also used in another race, namely for a race of the Busch Series on the Talladega Superspeedway . So for a few years there were two races with the same name. In 2006 the Aaron's 312 was renamed the Nicorette 300 and has been a 300 mile race again since then, with 195 laps.
