Dear Jack is an Italian pop rock band formed in Rome in 2012. She became known in 2013 for her participation in the casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi , in which she reached second place and won the critic's award.

Band history

The band was founded in 2012 by Francesco Pierozzi and Alessio Bernabei , followed by Lorenzo Cantarini, Alessandro Presti and Riccardo Ruiu. The band name refers to Jack Skeletron , the protagonist of the film Nightmare Before Christmas . Her first songs were in English and published online. In 2014 they reached the finals in the casting show Amici di Maria De Filippi in the team of Miguel Bosé . The band landed in second place behind Deborah Iurato and was awarded the Critics Prize.

In early May 2014, Dear Jack released the album Domani è un altro film (prima parte) , which reached number one in the Italian charts. It was produced by Enrico Palmosi, Sabatino Salvati, Diego Calvetti and Francesco Silvestre ( Modà ). Silvestre also selected the band as the opening act for two Modà concerts. After appearances at the Music Awards and the Coca-Cola Summer Festival , the band completed their first tour between October and December. They also recorded the theme song of the third season of the television series Che Dio ci aiuti .

At the Sanremo Music Festival 2015 Dear Jack took with the song Il mondo esplode tranne noi part and reached the seventh place; then the second album Domani è un altro film (seconda parte) was released . In March, the band won a Kids' Choice Award in the category Italian favorite singer . Again they took part in the Coca-Cola Summer Festival and went on a second tour.

At the end of 2015, frontman Alessio Bernabei announced that he would leave the band in order to start a solo career. He was replaced by former X-Factor participant Leiner Riflessi. In the new formation, the band took part in the 2016 Sanremo Festival and performed among others. a. against Bernabei. However, she did not make it to the final. Then the third album Mezzo respiro was released .
