The Dearborn River is a left tributary of the Missouri River , approximately 70 miles long, in western Montana , United States .

It rises in the Lewis and Clark National Forest , near Scapegoat Mountain on the continental divide in the Rocky Mountains in western Lewis and Clark County . It essentially flows in a south-easterly direction through inaccessible canyons and flows into the Missouri at Craig .

It is spanned by the Dearborn River High Bridge , a listed building that was built in 1897.

The river is suitable for white water rafting and fly fishing . It is a Class I recreational river from the bridge on Highway 431 to the estuary.
