Debra Sapenter
Debra Sapenter (actually Deborah Elaine Sapenter, married Speight ; born February 22, 1952 in Prairie View , Texas ) is a former American sprinter .
At the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1975 , she won silver over 400 m and in the 4-by-400-meter relay .
In 1976 she was eighth in 51.66 s over the same distance at the Olympic Games in Montreal , after setting a US record with 51.23 s in the quarterfinals. In the 4 x 400 meter relay, she won the silver medal in 3: 22.81 minutes behind the GDR relay with the US team consisting of Sapenter, Sheila Ingram , Pamela Jiles and Rosalyn Bryant, behind the GDR relay, which scored 3: 19.23 min set a world record.
In 1974 and 1975 she was US champion over 440 yards and 400 m.
