Decio Lucio Grandoni

Decio Lucio Grandoni (born April 7, 1928 in Todi , Province of Perugia , † March 22, 2006 ) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest who was last bishop of Orvieto-Todi from 1986 to 2003 .

Life

After attending the seminaries of Todi and Assisi , he was ordained a priest on October 22, 1950 , after which he became a priest of the parish of San Benedetto in Todi. He then Kapitular the Cathedral of Todi, before 1969 in May Vicar General was of the Diocese of Todi.

After more than twenty years as a priest, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Foligno on July 22, 1972 and at the same time appointed titular bishop of Atella . A few months later, on September 9, 1972, he received his episcopal ordination from Carlo Cardinal Confalonieri , Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , as chief consecrator ; and Virginio Dondeo , then Bishop of Orvieto and Todi, and Siro Silvestri , Bishop of Foligno, as co-consecrators.

After the death of Bishop Virginio Dondeo, he was appointed as his successor Bishop of Orvieto and Bishop of Todi on December 12, 1974. After the formal amalgamation of the two dioceses, he was bishop of Orvieto-Todi from September 30, 1986, and held this office until his resignation on November 8, 2003.

As bishop he participated in the episcopal ordinations of Ennio Antonelli (1982), Arduino Bertoldo (1992) and Giovanni Scanavino (2003).
