Giovanni Scanavino OSA (born December 9, 1939 in Santo Stefano Belbo , Province of Cuneo , Italy ) is Bishop Emeritus of Orvieto-Todi .

Life

Giovanni Scanavino joined the Congregation of the Augustinian in, put the profession on October 7, 1956, received on 14 March 1964, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Orvieto-Todi on November 8, 2003. He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Italy , Paolo Romeo , on December 27 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Domenico Berni Leonardi OESA, Prelate of Chuquibambilla , and Decio Lucio Grandoni , Bishop Emeritus of Orvieto-Todi.

On March 5, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
