Benedetto Tuzia (born December 22, 1944 in Subiaco ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Orvieto-Todi .

Life

Benedetto Tuzia was ordained a priest for the Territorial Abbey of Subiaco on June 29, 1969 . He was incardinated on September 1, 1980 in the clergy of the Diocese of Rome .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on January 28, 2006 auxiliary bishop in Rome and titular bishop of Nepeta . The Cardinal Vicar of the Diocese of Rome and Archpriest of the Lateran Basilica , Camillo Ruini , donated him episcopal ordination on March 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Luigi Moretti , auxiliary bishop in Rome, and Vincenzo Apicella , bishop of Velletri-Segni . As a motto he chose Dei caritati credidimus .

He was appointed Bishop of Orvieto-Todi on May 31, 2012, and was instituted on June 30 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 7, 2020.
