Chemnitz dean's office
The Chemnitz deanery is a deanery of the Roman Catholic diocese of Dresden-Meißen .
It comprises eight parishes in Chemnitz as well as the districts of Central Saxony and the Erzgebirge district with around 14,000 Catholics. The dean's office was reorganized during the structural reform in 2002.
The dean is Roman Neumüll, the pastor of Freiberg.

Pastoral exploration process
As part of the pastoral exploration process, several parishes came together to form communities of responsibility.
A community of responsibility has already been united into a new parish. All Catholic parishes in Chemnitz merged in 2018 to form the new city parish of St. Mother Theresa.
