The deanery Eschwege-Bad Hersfeld is one of ten deaneries in the Roman Catholic diocese of Fulda . It roughly includes the Werra-Meißner district and the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district . It borders the Diocese of Erfurt in the east, the Dean's Office Hünfeld-Geisa in the south, the Dean's Office Fritzlar and the Diocese of Mainz in the west and the Dean's Office Kassel-Hofgeismar and the Diocese of Hildesheim in the north . The dean is Andreas Schweimer, pastor of Bebra-Rotenburg.

history

With the reform of the deanery on April 1, 2007, the deanery Eschwege-Bad Hersfeld was newly established as one of ten deaneries of the diocese of Fulda. It emerged from the eponymous previous deaneries Eschwege and Bad Hersfeld. Since then some parish mergers have taken place, so that the number of parishes has already decreased.
