Building description

The hall church has a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular apse . It is covered with a gable roof. The roof structure is open on the inside. The large eleven-part window in the choir symbolizes the creation and redemption of the world. The mosaic in the apse was created in 1976 based on a template from Ravenna . It represents Christ Pantocrator . The inscription MARAN ATHA KYRIE CHRIST means: Come soon, Lord Christ. The altar cross, carved from linden wood and decorated with Rhine pebbles, is modeled on a Romanesque cross. The high windows on the left represent the 7 sacraments , each with a symbol . Fifteen Stations of the Cross were installed underneath in 1962 . In the windows on the right-hand side, also high, the seven physical works of mercy are shown next to the symbol of the scales . Among them are 13 candlesticks for the twelve apostles and Paul .

The altar , as well as the baptismal font , ambo and stele for the tabernacle, is made of Anröchter stone .

The organ on the gallery , built in 1985, has 21 registers and 1,300 pipes made of pewter and 84 made of wood.

The mosaic on the outer wall to the right of the portal shows Christ as the good shepherd .

The bell tower on the side is 20 m high and contains four bells that were made by Wilhelmshütte in 1961 . The mood of the bell is a sonorous addition to that of the Evangelical Church of Our Lady .
