Denis Lathoud (born January 13, 1966 in Lyon ) is a French handball coach and former handball player .
Career
The 1.98 m tall Denis Lathoud played mostly as a left backcourt player . With USAM Nîmes he won two French championships . After moving to Vénissieux HB , he celebrated his third title in 1992 and the double by winning the trophy . He then ran for Paris-Asnières and US Ivry HB . After a stint at HBC Villefranche en Beaujolais, he went to the Italian club SSV Forst Brixen. In December 2002 he became player-coach at SMV Porte Normande.
Denis Lathoud belonged to the "golden generation" of the "Les Barjots". With the French national team , he won bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games , where he was elected to the All-Star team, silver at the 1993 World Cup and gold at the 1995 World Cup . At the 1996 Olympic Games , he finished fourth. In 1997 he won bronze again at the World Cup. He played a total of 264 international matches in which he scored over 700 goals.
After his departure from Porte Normande in 2005, Lathoud trained CAPO Limoges in the 2005/06 season. From 2006 to February 2014 he was the coach of Dijon Bourgogne HB .
