Union sportive d'Ivry Handball is a French handball club from Ivry-sur-Seine , a suburb of Paris . With eight championship titles, it is the second most successful club in France after Montpellier handball . US Ivry played in the top division for 57 years.
history
The club's handball department was founded in 1947. First a school club and from 1947 to 1949 under the name "Étoile Sportive du Travail d'Ivry", the club later became a professional club and in 1957 rose to the French 1st division - the highest French division. In 1952 the club moved to the “Stade Clerville” and in 1953 to the “Gymnase Auguste Delaune”. The club is currently using a covered installation instead of the hall and is playing its first division games outside. In the 2013/14 season the team finished penultimate and was relegated to the Pro D2. A season later, the team managed to return to the Ligue Nationale de Handball.
Today the club has an equally successful men's and women's department.
