Denis Walentinowitsch Manturow ( Russian Денис Валентинович Мантуров ; born February 23, 1969 in Murmansk ) is a Russian politician .

Life

Manturow studied sociology at Lomonosov University in Moscow and then studied law at the Russian Presidential Academy for Civil Service. He became a senior lecturer at the Moscow State Aviation Institute in 2011 .

From 2001 to 2003 Manturov held the post of deputy chairman of the "State Investment Corporation" (Gosinkor) in Russia. Between 2003 and 2007 he managed the holding company “ Oboronprom ”. In 2007 he was promoted to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, before being appointed Minister of Industry and Trade to succeed Viktor Borisovich Khristenko in February 2012 by then Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin .

In an interview with the French financial newspaper Les Échos in July 2017, Manturov was pleased about the western sanctions against Russia: “The sanctions had a positive effect on the development of domestic production. We are very interested in extending these restriction measures. Thanks to the Western food embargo, agricultural production in Russia is growing by 4 to 5 percent annually. "

Manturov is married and has two children.
