Denis Wiktorowitsch Kljujew (often also Denis Klujew , Russian Денис Викторович Клюев ; English transcription: Denis Viktorovich Klyuyev ; born September 7, 1973 in Moscow ) is a former Russian football player and today's coach . The midfielder was active for FC Schalke 04 , among others .

Career

After his youth in the Soviet Union and later Russia , Feyenoord Rotterdam was Kljujew's first foreign address in 1994. After a year at Lierse SK , he finally moved to FC Schalke 04 on July 1, 1997 . He made his first Bundesliga game on August 5, 1997 in the away game at MSV Duisburg , which was lost 1-0. He scored his only Bundesliga goal on December 19, 1997 in the Revierderby against Borussia Dortmund , making it 1-1. The game ended 2-2.

After his time in Germany, Kljujew played in Russia until the end of his career.

Kljujew later worked as a coach for the second team of Lokomotiv Moscow .
