activities
The focus of the foundation is the fine arts and monument preservation .
Monument preservation
The Hypo-Kulturstiftung supports the continuous, long-term preservation of cultural values and the protection of architectural monuments with various programs.
The monument award has been given to private owners since 1986 who have professionally restored their monuments with great dedication. In the meantime almost 200 winners have been awarded in all regions of Bavaria. The social awareness of the importance of historical monuments was only emerging in the 80s, today there is broad consensus on this. The Hypo-Kulturstiftung has actively accompanied this change over the years and played a key role in shaping it.
The Hypo-Kulturstiftung has been a founding member of the Bavarian Cultural Heritage Initiative since 2015. The aim of this public, non-profit foundation is to protect, save and revive the built heritage, the cultural landscapes and the intangible cultural assets such as customs, handicrafts, art, music and language - and thus to preserve them in the long term. The private civic engagement in interaction with state and municipal institutions is supported and promoted.
Museum Fund
The museum fund promotes the purchase of contemporary art . The aim is to support public art museums with supraregional importance, which provide an overview of the main trends in contemporary art in a permanent collection .
Grants
The funding for exhibitions helps to realize many smaller projects all over Germany. Museums, exhibition houses, art associations, professional associations and many other institutions receive valuable support in their initiatives.
Scholarships
Through scholarships are post-doctoral art historical and archaeological subjects and restorers supported.
Art Gallery
The foundation's art gallery in Munich is one of the largest exhibition venues in Germany. The house has around 300,000 visitors annually. Since the opening in 1985, 108 exhibitions (as of spring 2019) have been shown, which take up all art eras up to the present day. Border areas of art, prehistoric, non-European and interdisciplinary topics are also presented here - from archeology and old masters to contemporary art .
