Hypovereinsbank art collection
The art collection of HypoVereinsbank , which has grown continuously over many decades, comprises around 14,000 works of art. Over the past few years there has been an increasing sharpening of the profile on works from the current European art scene with a focus on contemporary art.
The art of the 20th and 21st centuries with its controversial statements is extensively documented in the HypoVereinsbank collection, in particular with the renowned representatives of German contemporary art such as u. a. Gerhard Richter , Sigmar Polke , Georg Baselitz and Günther Uecker . The important representatives of the younger generation in Germany also include Franz Ackermann , Karin Kneffel , Heribert C. Ottersbach , Neo Rauch , Thomas Ruff , Daniel Schnell and Cornelius Völker .
Art from all European countries, America and Asia - from artists like u. a. Christo , Chillida, Tony Cragg , Dan Graham , Gilbert & George , Zhuang Hui , Shirin Neshat , Julian Opie , Giulio Paolini - have also been part of the collection for the past ten years. Sculptures by Stephan Balkenhol , Jeppe Hein , Isamu Noguchi , Joannis Avramidis and Fritz König complete this broad corporate collection.
Works of photography and light art represent a separate part of the collection with almost 1000 objects. a. Well-known contemporary artists such as Andreas Gursky and Thomas Demand as well as important photographic positions by Bernd and Hilla Becher , Roe Ethridge , Roland Fischer , Beate Gütschow , Sabine Hornig , Armin Linke , Steven Pippin , Georges Rousse , Thomas Struth and Carlo Valsecchi . The work of the American light artist Dan Flavin is also present in the collection with a large light installation that was specially created for a bank building in Munich .
Recent acquisitions include artists such as Kerstin Brätsch , Rómulo Celdrán , Marco di Giovanni , Tatjana Doll , Sven Drühl , Julian Faulhaber , Pengyi Jiang , Annette Kelm , Jonathan Meese , Peter Piller , Clare Strand , Raïssa Venables , Rinus Van de Velde and Jorinde Voigt .
