Touché was a successful German boy band .

Career

The boy group was founded in 1996 and produced by Dieter Bohlen . Touché consisted of Alexander Geist, Martin Scholz, Glenn Frey, Karim Maataoui and Dennis Frey. Touché sold a total of 5.4 million records worldwide. As Bravo All Stars , Touché u. a. together with the Backstreet Boys and * NSYNC the title Let the music heal your soul , which made it to number 6 in the German single charts and at least number 60 in the USA . In 1997 the band was named VIVA Act of the Year and only one year later Popcorn magazine named it the most popular pop group of the year. With songs like This goodbye is not forever , the band also gained fame in Russia.

In 1997 the group performed with the benefit project Stars For Children at the "Stars for Free" concert. In addition to them, Fool's Garden , No Mercy , La Bouche , Carrilio , Lyte Funkie Ones , the Soultans and above all X-Perience were also involved in the project. In order to raise funds for the emergency fund of the Kinderhilfswerk e. V. , they recorded the title Beautiful day together . The title of the first X-Perience album has been rewritten. At the end of 1997 they played in several episodes of Unter uns .

In 1999 Karim Maataoui left the group. He subsequently took part in shows such as Big Brother and Die Burg . He was not replaced.

After a year and a half break, the group returned in September 2002 with a new line-up and a mature musical style. Alex Geist and Martin Scholz from the band's old line-up were still there - new ones were Donny Weiß and Chris Reuter. The brothers Dennis and Glenn Frey had left the band. Her single Can't hurry love , a cover version of the evergreen of the Supremes , which Phil Collins also made his breakthrough as a solo artist, was not a success. Even with the title Hey You , the band couldn't build on old successes. In 2004 the group was dissolved.

At the beginning of 2007, Martin Scholz appeared alone in a few episodes in Unter uns .

In 2015 Touché started a comeback. In addition to the founding members Martin Scholz and Alexander Geist, the band has now been completed by Pravit Anantapongse, an ex-dancer of Sarah Connor , and Markus Klopfer, a trained pop, swing and soul singer. After 13 years, Touché released their new single Miracle in November 2015 .
