Mayor Dennis Junk

Dennis Junk (born April 30, 1984 in Wittlich ) is a Rhineland-Palatinate CDU politician and mayor of the Wittlich-Land community .

Life

Junk grew up in Hontheim . After graduating from the Peter-Wust Gymnasium in Wittlich in 2003 , he completed his training as a banker at Raiffeisenbank Zeller Land eG. He then worked as an independent financial advisor from 2007 to 2010. In mid-2010 he began his administration studies at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mayen and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts (FH). Until his election as mayor of the Wittlich-Land community, he worked for the community administration in Kröv-Bausendorf.

In 2012 he married the radiologist Sabine Reinheimer. The couple have two children. The family lives in Salmtal .

As a teenager, Junk played football for FSV Salmrohr, among others, very successfully. He played more than 50 games for the Rhineland Football Association under association coach Ewald Hammes . However, several injuries ended further ambitions in the senior sector. Since 2016 he has been part of the German national soccer team of mayors.

In 2003 he joined the CDU and took on responsibility in various party bodies. From 2005 to 2011 he was district chairman of the Junge Union Bernkastel-Wittlich. Between 2004 and 2009 he was a member of the Kröv-Bausendorf municipal council . He has been a member of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district council since 2014 . In a runoff vote on June 8, 2014 he could with 55.4% of the vote against the remaining competitors Alois Meyer of the Free Voters prevail to succeed Mayor Christoph Holkenbrink and results since July 1, 2014, as part of the municipal reform to the community association Manderscheid enlarged community of Wittlich-Land. On January 9th, Junk announced that it would apply for the mandate in the Wittlich constituency (constituency 22) in the 2021 state elections .
