Denni Strich (born August 29, 1966 in Worms ) is a former German soccer player and soccer official. Between 2006 and 2019, the business graduate worked as Director of Marketing for the German Football Association (DFB). He was also the managing director of DFB Wirtschaftsdienste GmbH. In January 2018 he became one of two managing directors of the newly founded DFB GmbH. On September 16, 2019, Strich left the association at his own request. On February 1, 2020, Strich moved to the Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim . Until June 30, 2020, he held the position of Director Sales & Marketing there. On July 1, 2020, he moved to the management of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim Fußball-Spielbetriebs GmbH.

career

In his youth, Strich first played at TuS Worms-Hochheim, then at Wormatia Worms and then moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the B-youth . In the 1985/86 season he moved up to the professional squad, but was not used. In 1986 he moved to Union Solingen in the 2nd Bundesliga . On December 6, 1986 he made his professional debut when he came on for Uwe Ronge in the 72nd minute in the 0-1 home defeat against VfL Osnabrück . After he was accrued at the beginning of the following season in the first eleven games for Solingen, he switched to league rivals Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on October 1, 1987 , where he played 23 games this season.

At the end of the season, Strich moved to FC 08 Homburg , where he played 26 second division games. The club rose again to the Bundesliga , but Strich first went to 1. FC Pforzheim and then to VfR Bürstadt in the Oberliga Hessen . From 1991 to 1993 he played for the league competitor SG Egelsbach . In the 1994/95 season he played in the Oberliga Südwest for TSG Pfeddersheim and then moved to the Regionalliga Süd for SV Darmstadt 98 for the season .

The greatest success in Strich's career, who played a total of 78 second division games and scored one goal, was the 2-0 final victory over the Soviet Union at the U-16 European Football Championship in 1984 . In 1987, Strich also took part in the military world championship in Italy with the Bundeswehr national team and took second place.

After studying business administration at the University of Mainz , Strich initially worked as a business graduate from 1995 to 1998 at Henkel in Düsseldorf. After that, the son of the former Bundesliga goalkeeper Horst-Dieter Strich (1. FC Kaiserslautern, 1. FC Nürnberg) was Marketing Director of the German Football Association (DFB). On September 16, 2019, Strich left the DFB to take up the newly created position of Sales and Marketing Director at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on February 1, 2020 . Since July 1, 2020, Strich has been a member of the management of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim Fußball-Spielbetriebs GmbH, where he is responsible for sales, marketing and communication.
