The Adolfo Alsina Department is located in the southeast of the Río Negro Province in southern Argentina and is one of 13 administrative units in the province.
It is bordered to the north by the Department of Conesa , to the east by the Province of Buenos Aires , to the south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the west by the Department of San Antonio .
The capital of the Adolfo Alsina department is Viedma .
history
The department got its name in honor of the former Argentine Minister of War Adolfo Alsina , who was responsible for the fortification of the " Zanja de Alsina " and the start of the desert campaign .
