The department of Bariloche is located in the southwest of the province of Río Negro in southern Argentina and is one of 13 administrative units in the province.
It borders the province of Neuquén to the north, the Pilcaniyeu and Ñorquincó departments to the east, the Chubut province to the south and Chile to the west .
The capital of the Department of Bariloche is San Carlos de Bariloche .
