The department of San Antonio is located in the south of the province of Río Negro in southern Argentina and is one of 13 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered by the Avellaneda and Conesa departments to the north, the Adolfo Alsina department and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Chubut province to the south and the Valcheta department to the west .

The capital of the Department of San Antonio is San Antonio Oeste .
