The Cainguás Department is located in the center of the Misiones Province in northeast Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.
It borders on the Libertador General San Martín and Montecarlo departments to the north, the Guaraní department to the east, the Veinticinco de Mayo department to the south and the Oberá and San Ignacio departments to the west .
The capital of the Cainguás department is Campo Grande .
