The Guaraní Department is located in the eastern center of the Misiones Province in northeast Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.
It borders in the northwest on the department of Montecarlo , in the northeast on the department of San Pedro , in the south, separated by the Río Uruguay , on Brazil and in the west on the departments Veinticinco de Mayo and Cainguás .
The capital of the Guaraní department is El Soberbio .
