The department of Montecarlo is located in the northwest of the province of Misiones in northeast Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Eldorado Department , the east by the departments of San Pedro and Guaraní , the south by the Departamento Cainguás , on the west by the Libertador General San Martín and in the northwest of Paraguay .

The capital of the department Monte Carlo is the same Monte Carlo .
