The Candelaria Department is located in the northwest of the Misiones Province in northeast Argentina and is one of 17 administrative units in the province.

It borders Paraguay to the north, the San Ignacio department to the northeast, the Oberá department to the east, the Leandro N. Alem department to the south and the Capital department to the west .

The capital of the Candelaria department is Santa Ana .
