action

The American Jim Ryan runs a cattle farm in Mexico. The locals don't like to see him because his ranch is on a cursed mountain. For the mayor's son-in-law, Enrique Rios, he is bothersome competition. Jim and his Mexican partner Felipe Sanchez notice that cattle keep disappearing. Jim suspects that Rios is behind it, the locals blame the curse.

Jim saves the life of the Mexican Pancho. Out of gratitude, he agrees to work for Jim on the ranch with his son Panchito. He also wants to explain the disappearance of the animals, but disappears himself in the process. Jim falls in love with Enrique's fiancée Sarita.

At the same time, Panchito goes in search of his father. He is attacked by a dinosaur, an Allosaurus , but is able to escape. On his escape he meets Sarita, who is looking for protection from the hungry lizard in a hut with Panchito. Jim appears and lures the dinosaur away from them. Enrique also appears. Jim and his rival take refuge in a cave. But Enrique is seized and killed by the dinosaur.

Jim comes up with an idea to lure the dinosaur away. He swings on a rope and lures the monster into a nearby swamp. The dinosaur is sinking, the mountain's curse is broken.

Reviews

"Naive, illogical mixture of western and horror film."

background

Most of the film was shot in Mexico, including in the Churubusco Studios in Mexico City , and in the mountains around the city of Tepoztlán in the state of Morelos .

A Spanish version of the film was shot at the same time. The dinosaur scenes were filmed using stop-motion technology. It is also considered to be the first feature film in which the cinemascope technology in color was combined with stop-motion technology.

The film is in the public domain and can be viewed free of charge on the Internet.
