action
Jakub, in his 30s, is a teacher and still lives with his father. He has a love affair with Tereza, a married woman and customer of his father's. During the holidays he goes to the country house in his late grandfather's summer house. There he finds encrypted diaries and buried treasures of his grandfather, meets a holiness-seeking Benedict who tends sheep, a Citroën 2CV driving Rousseau with a nagging wife and 3 children, a Wittgenstein who deals in real estate and becomes friends with a "miraculous maiden" named Helena. Helena can heal herself and also decides to heal Jakub. He ends his affair with Tereza, speaks to his father, finds his inner peace and decides to stay in the country.
criticism
“Third feature film by the talented Slovak director Martin Sulik. With a sure hand he combines the best traditions of his language area (e.g. the prose Bohoumil Hrabal) with his own handwriting. "
