The Satan with the red hair is a German action and trash film from 1964 by Alfons Stummer with Helga Sommerfeld in the title role.

action

A charter plane flies from Caracas to Nicaragua . There are several boxes on board that have been stowed in the hold. Disguised as machine parts, they contain large amounts of gold. During the flight there is a scuffle when two of the passengers turn out to be unscrupulous revolutionaries and terrorists who want to hijack the machine and take command. This has consequences for everyone involved, because the aircraft gets out of control and the pilot Erik has to make an emergency landing on a lonely island in the middle of the Caribbean .

Not all passengers survived the crash landing. Among the lucky ones are the two hijackers, pilot Erik, Kathrin, the stewardess, another passenger and a racy young woman with fiery red hair. Her name is Wanda, she is a singer in a wicked South American bar and will soon turn the heads of all men in the heated, humid tropical climate, causing a lot of unrest. Tensions (not just sexual) quickly arise between the survivors, the greed for gold leads to the fact that some of them soon lose all inhibitions.

Production notes

The Satan with the Red Hair was filmed in Brazil and premiered in Germany on September 11, 1964. In Brazil, the strip ran under the no less lurid title Mulher Satânica (roughly: The Satan Woman ).

For the almost 70-year-old camera veteran Hans Schneeberger , this was the first film after a three-year break, and at the same time the last film in his 40-year career.

Reviews

"The story is set in the South American revolutionary milieu, which is portrayed just as primitively as the rest."

"Once again, the natural scenery captured in the Caribbean Sea and the cliché of action stand next to each other, just as the not unappealingly embodied figures were only drawn superficially and stretching was not avoided [...]."
