Desmond A. Williams (born April 19, 1930 in Dún Laoghaire , County Dublin , † February 24, 2006 in Clonskeagh , Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown ) was an Irish Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

Desmond A. Williams was ordained a priest on June 4, 1955 after studying at Holy Cross College in Dublin and at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and was then a priest in Dublin. On March 14, 1985 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Dublin and at the same time titular bishop of Summa . As such, he received episcopal ordination on April 21, 1985 by the Archbishop of Dublin , Kevin McNamara , his co-consecrators Gaetano Alibrandi , the titular Archbishop of Binda andApostolic Nuncio to Ireland , as well as Joseph A. Carroll , Titular Bishop of Quaestoriana and Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, were. On December 18, 1993, he resigned as auxiliary bishop of Dublin, but remained titular bishop of Summa until his death. After his death, Oscar Campos Contreras became the new titular bishop of Summa on May 23, 2006.
