Joseph A. Carroll (born December 12, 1912 in Dublin , Ireland , † February 29, 1992 ) was auxiliary bishop in Dublin .

Life

Joseph Carroll received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Dublin on June 19, 1938 .

On October 4, 1968, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Quaestoriana and auxiliary bishop in Dublin. The Archbishop of Dublin, John Charles McQuaid CSSp , donated him episcopal ordination on December 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Dublin, Patrick Joseph Dunne , and the bishop of Kildare and Leighlin , Patrick Lennon .

On June 15, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted Joseph Carroll's resignation due to reasons of age.

An investigation into the longstanding widespread sexual abuse by members of the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland was critical of Carroll's role in handling the crimes.
