Gaetano Alibrandi

Gaetano Alibrandi (born January 14, 1914 in Castiglione di Sicilia , Province of Catania , Italy ; † July 3, 2003 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .

Life

Gaetano Alibrandi received on 1 November 1936, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 5, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Binda and ordered him to apostolic nuncio in Chile . The Curia Cardinal Fernando Cardinal Cento donated him episcopal ordination on December 8 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of the Curia Pericle Felici , and the Prelate Emeritus of Pompei , Roberto Ronca .

On December 9, 1963, Gaetano Alibrandi became apostolic nuncio in Lebanon . Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 19, 1969 as Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland .

On January 14, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted Gaetano Alibrandi's resignation due to reasons of age.

Gaetano Alibrandi attended the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
