Joseph Francis McGeough
Joseph Francis McGeough (born August 29, 1903 in New York City , USA ; † October 12, 1970 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
Joseph Francis McGeough received on 20 December 1930, the sacrament of Holy Orders . On May 9, 1957 he was apostolic internuncio in Ethiopia .
On September 17, 1960 Pope John XXIII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Hemesa and ordered him to Apostolic Internuncio in South Africa . John XXIII on October 28 of the same year donated his episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the papal almsman , Curia Archbishop Diego Venini , and the bishop of Imola , Benigno Carrara .
On July 8, 1967, Joseph Francis McGeough became Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland . He resigned as Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland in March 1969.
Joseph Francis McGeough attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
