Gershon Rorich (born October 23, 1973 in Cape Town ) is a South African beach volleyball player .

Career

Rorich played his first open tournament in 1995 in his hometown Cape Town with Adrian Strijdom and reached 25th place. At the 1996 World Series Tournament in Durban , the duo came in 17th. In 1997 Rorich played his first Grand Slam with Grant Hodge in Rio de Janeiro . A year later he completed two more open tournaments with Strijdom in Toronto and Berlin . In 2004 he returned to the world series with his new partner Colin Pocock and finished 17th at the Cape Town Open. The South African duo finished three more open tournaments in 25th place. In addition, Rorich / Pocock played three Grand Slams in Berlin, Marseille and Klagenfurt . Rorich / Pocock qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . In the preliminary round they get two wins against opponents from Greece and Portugal; only against the Argentine Baracetti / Conde they suffered a defeat and qualified as second in the group for the round of 16. There they had to admit defeat to the Australians Prosser / Williams and finished the Olympic tournament in ninth place.

In 2007 Rorich played the Fortaleza Open with Freedom Chiya . In 2008 he took part in four open tournaments with Grant Goldschmidt and came in twice on 41st and 57th place.
