Pericle Felici
Pericle Cardinal Felici (born August 1, 1911 in Segni , Province of Rome , Italy , † March 22, 1982 in Foggia ) was a Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .
Life
Pericle Felici received his theological and philosophical training in Segni and Rome . He received on 28 October 1933, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a university teacher in Rome. In 1940 Pope Pius XII awarded him . the title of His Holiness' secret chamberlain . From 1947 to 1960, Pericle Felici worked as an auditor for the Court of Justice of the Roman Rota . From 1950 to 1959 he was spiritual at the Pontifical Roman Seminary . In 1960 he became general secretary of the Commission for the Preparation of the Second Vatican Council .
On September 3, 1960 Pericle Felici was by Pope John XXIII. appointed titular archbishop of Samosata . The Pope ordained him episcopal on October 28, 1960, co-consecrators were Archbishop Diego Venini , almsman of His Holiness , and Benigno Carrara , Bishop of Imola . Felici acted as general secretary of the Second Vatican Council . Pope Paul VI accepted him in 1967 as a cardinal deacon with the titular diaconate Sant'Apollinare alle Terme Neroniane-Alessandrine in the college of cardinals and appointed him president of the Pontifical Commission for the Interpretation of the Documents of the Second Vatican Council . In 1977 he was appointed Prefect of the Supreme Court of the Apostolic Signature . In 1978, as Cardinal Protodeacon, Pericle Felice was honored to announce the election of John Paul I and John Paul II as head of the Catholic Church of the Benediction Loggia of St. Peter's Basilica after the two conclaves of the year with the Habemus papam . After the death of Paul VI. in August 1978 he was also considered papabile . In 1979 he was raised to cardinal priest pro hac vice while retaining his titular church .
Pericle Felici died on March 22, 1982 in Foggia and was buried in his birthplace.
