Giuseppe Cardinal Fietta (born November 6, 1883 in Ivrea , Province of Turin , Italy , † October 1, 1960 ibid) was a Vatican diplomat .

Life

Giuseppe Fietta studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University , the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy . He received on 4 November 1906, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a personal secretary to the bishop of Alghero , Oristano and Cagliari . In 1923 and 1924 Giuseppe Fietta headed the seminary of Alghero and worked as a pastoral canon as a cathedral canon at the local episcopal church.

Pope Pius XI appointed him secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Costa Rica in 1924 , and in 1926 as Internuncio in Central America . 1926 He received his Cardinal Giovanni Bonzano the episcopal ordination after Fietta of Pius XI. was appointed titular archbishop of Serdica . Co- consecrators were Ernesto Maria Piovella (it) OSSCA , Archbishop of Cagliari, and Augustin Blessing CM , Titular Bishop of Tegea , Vicar Apostolic of Limón . In the same year Giuseppe Fietta received the appointment as Apostolic Nuncio for Central America. In 1930 the Pope appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti , and in 1936 he entrusted him with the same task in Argentina . Pope Pius XII appointed him in 1953 as Apostolic Nuncio in Italy. Pope John XXIII took him on 15 December 1958 as a cardinal priest with the pro hac vice to title Church gathered Title Diakonie San Paolo alla Regola in the College of Cardinals on.

Giuseppe Fietta died on October 1st, 1960 in Ivrea and was buried in the local cathedral .
