Albert Levame

Albert Levame (born January 19, 1881 in Monaco , † December 5, 1958 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Albert Levame received on 21 May 1905, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 21, 1933, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Chersonesus in Zechia and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Guatemala , Honduras and El Salvador . The Cardinal Secretary of State Eugenio Pacelli donated him the episcopal ordination on February 4, 1934 ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of the Curia, Giuseppe Pizzardo , and the President of the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy , Archbishop of the Curia, Giovanni Maria Zonghi .

On November 12, 1939, Albert Levame became apostolic nuncio in Uruguay . Pope Pius XII appointed him on October 3, 1949 as Apostolic Internuntius in Egypt . Levame became Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland on June 16, 1954 .
