This article contains all episodes of the sixth season of the American dramedy series Desperate Housewives , sorted by the US American premiere . They were broadcast from September 27, 2009 to May 16, 2010 on the US broadcaster ABC . The German-language first broadcast was broadcast by the Swiss free TV broadcaster SRF Zwei from January 11 to November 22, 2010. The sixth season for the first time has two big secrets that will be resolved over the course of the season. The authors justified this with more variety for the television viewer. This means the dissolution of the past of the Bolen family and the search for the identity of the Fairview strangler.

Karen and her new partner Roy discovers the injured Julie Mayer. Susan is concerned for her daughter's life. At the hospital she learns from Lynette that Julie might be pregnant, which she confided in Lynette. However, Julie is not pregnant. Lynette then decides to tell her family about her own pregnancy. Julie wakes up briefly in the hospital and notices a kiss between Bree and her father Karl. Bree feels guilty as a result. Angie advises her son to ask Ana for an alibi. However, when Gabrielle realizes that Ana lied and alerted the police, the police lead Danny away. | |||||||

After much deliberation, Gabrielle realizes that she is happy in her current life and sends John a message that it is over between them for good. Bree begins to notice Katherine's obsession with Mike. When the situation escalates and Katherine tries to destroy a cake that she designed for her wedding to Mike and that was intended for another wedding couple, Bree quits her. Lynette spends her breasts, enlarged by pregnancy, as cosmetic surgery. Angie wants to make her son happy and makes sure that Danny gets a party organized. | |||||||

Katherine breaks into Susan's house and is mistaken for a murderer, so Susan shoots her in the arm. However, since it is Angie's gun, which Danny Julie loaned and which goes in Angie's real name, Angie persuades Katherine not to go to the police. Gabrielle is upset that other parents have a reputation for being a bad mother. However, in an attempt to show mothers how good she is as a mother, Juanita's birthday party gets out of hand. A motel cleaner leads Bree to question their affair. After Lynette hired Roy as a craftsman at Karen's request, Lynette also began an argument with Roy, who was noticeable negatively by Lynette due to his conservative nature. | |||||||

Susan again comes into conflict with Katherine, who continues to try to win Mike over. After Katherine realizes that Angie is hiding something, Angie tries to convince Susan that Katherine is behind the choking attack. Gabrielle leads a heated discussion with Juanita's headmistress, because Gabrielle does not see that Juanita should be punished for a swear word in a play. When Gabrielle also fails, Juanita is expelled from school and Gabrielle has to teach Juanita at home. Bree notes that a necklace Karl gave her was a previous gift to Susan. Then Bree wants to separate from Karl. Orson notes that Bree's new chain wasn't bought from the store Bree told him about. Lynette is not for good that Tom cheats in college. | |||||||

After Susan is convinced that Katherine strangled her daughter, she turns to the police. But there works a former classmate of Susan's, who was teased by her and takes revenge by locking Susan up for shooting Katherine. Meanwhile, Lynette believes that Nick choked Julie after learning from Julie that they were having an affair. Angie reveals to Nick shortly thereafter that she had long since noticed that Nick was having an affair. Bree refuses to employ Angie in her company. But when Bree started preparing Angie's recipes in her company, Angie asked for an explanation. Gabrielle is grateful that the new housekeeper is well versed in math and that she does the homework for her. Carlos, however, quits the maid as he believes the messy house is causing her not to do her job until Gabrielle has to confess the truth to Carlos. | |||||||

Susan is sentenced to community service for her shooting at Katherine. When Katherine mocks Susan at the garbage dump, she is sentenced to community service herself. There Katherine tells Susan about her former sex life with Mike. Then Susan gets a bad feeling. While Gabrielle asks Carlos to relocate an employee to Miami so that Juanita can get the school place from his daughter, Lynette manages to convince him not to accept the offer so that he can act as Lynette's maternity representative. When Carlos finds out about Lynette's pregnancy, he is very disappointed and advises her to quit. Angie learns of Bree's affair with Karl and manages to prevent Orson from catching Bree and Karl red-handed. In the evening there is a second strangling victim in Fairview: the waitress Emily Portsmith. | |||||||

Susan learns of Bree's affair with her ex-husband Karl and begins to question her friendship with Bree. While Gabrielle gets Carlos to forgive Lynette, Lynette instead hires a lawyer to take action against Carlos' harassment at work. Bree hires one of Orson's ex-inmates to meet Orson to blackmail her ex-husband for breaking his parole by visiting. After Katherine tells MJ how bad his mother is, Mike forbids her contact with MJ. However, when she soon picks him up from a birthday, the angry Mike tells her that he never really loved her. Katherine eventually calls the police and begins harming herself to cast suspicion on Mike. After Emily's body has been found, Julie fears that the strangler might stalk her again. Angie finds Danny who has tried to kill himself. Neighbor Mona Clarke, who works as a nurse there, looks after him at the hospital. Danny tells her that he has assumed a new identity. | |||||||

Susan brings Dylan to Wisteria Lane after Katherine puts Mike in jail. It turns out that Katherine was telling her daughter a make-believe world about her and Mike on the phone. Dylan decides to have her mother admitted. Mona learns of Danny's mother because of a misunderstanding. Mona then blackmailed Angie for $ 64,000, which Angie does not own. At the Christmas party in Wisteria Lane, Karl ordered a plane with a banner as a love message for Bree, whereupon he proposes to Bree. Orson learns shortly beforehand that Karl Bree is having an affair and fights him in a garden shed. Gabrielle and Lynette are still at war. When the plane approaching Wisteria Lane crashes and speeds towards the celebration, Lynette rescues Celia Solis. However, Mona is caught by the falling plane. The garden house in which Orson and Karl were also destroyed. | |||||||

At the hospital, Susan learns that her ex-husband, Karl, did not survive. Susan thinks about what it would have been like to reunite with Karl after the breakup, and concludes that she did everything right. Bree has a nervous breakdown after hearing the news of Karl's death. She also dreams of a life with Karl if he hadn't died. After she wakes up, Bree is notified that Orson is paraplegic. After Lynette saved Celia Solis from the plane, Gabrielle thinks about what could become of Celia. Lynette is diagnosed that one of her twins may have suffered damage as a result of the accident. Although she imagines her future to be difficult, she comes to the conclusion that she can master anything. It pains Lynette all the more to learn from Tom that a twin did not survive. Angie thinks about what could happen if Mona betrays her to the police. So it is a great relief for the Bolen family to learn that Mona has died. | |||||||

Susan inherits a strip club from Karl. There she learns that Mike has often visited the club and gets angry with her husband. Gabrielle and Carlos argue that Gabrielle has no national pride for Mexico. However, Gabrielle has a reason for her behavior. Reverend Sikes advises Bree to take Orson back. Orson, however, is offended and treats Bree badly. Lynette gets her job back from Carlos, but her husband Tom replaces her on maternity leave. This leads to a big argument between the two. | |||||||

Then Gabrielle and Carlos discover that Angie has a big secret. Bree is busy stopping Orson from killing himself. Now that the former stripper Robin has become the new neighbor in Wisteria Lane, all housewives experience that Robin is more than just a sex object. Lynette learns from Robin that her son Parker offered Robin money for sex. After Ana turned down Gabrielle's proposal to go to New York, Gabrielle uses Robin to tell Ana her story, how she too waited for her chance and then couldn't become a dancer. Ana agrees to Gabrielle's proposal and separates from Danny. When Robin realizes that she has been exploited, she puts Gabrielle in her place. Bree tries to take Robin as a role model and tries to strip in front of Orson, but she doesn't succeed. Susan becomes jealous of Robin, who Mike massages after work. When Robin notices this, she finds a new place to stay with Katherine. She reveals to her that she actually likes women. At first Katherine refuses, but she realizes that she sees Robin with different eyes. | |||||||

Karen asks Susan to bring up the subject of marriage over dinner so Roy is forced to propose to her. The joy of the application is short-lived, however, as Karen is diagnosed with lung cancer. Gabrielle moves in with Bob and Lee for a short time because of the high risk of infection from Celia's chickenpox. There she realizes how wonderful a childless life can be, but when Bob tells her about his desire to have children, Gabrielle realizes how important her family is to her. Bree hires Sam Allen at her company. Andrew notices that something is wrong with Sam and tries in vain to stop Bree. Lynette forgets her daughter's birthday, which Penny resents her very much and therefore runs away. During a joint conversation, Lynette learns that Penny is jealous of Lynette's unborn baby. Katherine doesn't know if her feelings for Robin are real. When Susan hears about it, she tells Mike about Katherine's lesbian experiences, which makes him very offended. Gabrielle and Angie head to New York to find Danny and Ana. While Gabrielle painfully realizes that she has ruined her career by making too many demands and passing this wisdom on to Ana, Angie meets with her mother, whom she has not seen for 18 years and with whom Danny is staying. Danny and Angie have to disappear again, otherwise they can be found by Patrick Logan. Gabrielle tells a neighbor that Angie now lives in Fairview. She uses the information and contacts Patrick. On the plane home, Angie tells Gabrielle about her secret. Bree finds out that Sam is the illegitimate son of her late husband, Rex. After initially being angry with him, Sam convinces her that he has always wanted a family like the Van de Kamps and Bree begins to treat Sam like a son. Lynette is shocked when Preston returns from his trip to Europe and brings his new girlfriend Irina with him, who is apparently only after Preston's money. | |||||||

Susan and Gabrielle compete to see which of their children will sell the most chocolate bars for a fundraiser. In doing so, they do not fight fairly, which leads to an argument between the two. Eventually, however, Susan realizes that it is much more important for Juanita to win so that she can make new friends with the celebration as a prize and persuades MJ to let Juanita win. Bree organizes a family reunion that Danielle also attends. However, this is getting out of hand. Lynette and Irina's argument comes to a head when Lynette learns that Preston wants to give up his studies for Irina. Katherine and Robin decide to move to Paris because Katherine can't stand the gossip from their neighbors. Karen beat cancer and so she throws a party. Patrick Logan kills Iris Beckley shortly after she tells him where Angie lives. Patrick now arrives in Angie's neighborhood. | |||||||

After Mike's car is confiscated, Susan tries to rebuild her husband and pays her neighbors to contact Mike as a plumber through feigned damage. However, Mike learns of the dizziness and is mad at Susan. Gabrielle offers Bob and Lee to act as egg donors for their child, but she can't keep her promise. This leads to the separation of Bob and Lee. Bree can't believe Andrew ruined her dinner with vinegar. From Orson, however, she gets the tip that it could also have been Sam to harm Andrew. Patrick gets in touch with his son Danny. Shortly before Preston's wedding to Irina, Lynette finds out that Irina is a marriage fraud. Thereupon Preston separates from her. Eddie later offers himself to Irina, but she turns him down unkindly, so that Eddie murders her, revealing the identity of the Fairview strangler. | |||||||

Mary Alice recounts how Eddie became a monster: Mary Alice met Eddie as a young child and noticed how neglected Eddie was by his mother Barbara, who blames her for being abandoned by her husband, and now can't find a new man anymore. Gabrielle met Eddie the day she moved to Wisteria Lane. Eddie helped her assemble the furniture and they both shared the feeling of being alone. Gabrielle noticed, however, how sorry she was Eddie. However, after Eddie had pushed too hard into her life, Gabrielle broke off contact. Bree hired Eddie as a painter a few years later. She gave him love tips. Little did she know that these were meant for Bree's daughter Danielle. Bree told Eddie's mother about it, whereupon she exposed Eddie to Bree. Eddie then went to a prostitute and gave her flowers. When she laughed at him about it, she became Eddie's first victim. When Susan met Eddie, she admired his artistic work. Eddie was enjoying the time with Susan. However, after returning from an arts class sponsored by Susan, he found that Susan had remarried Mike. Eddie jealously wants to kill Susan that evening, but confuses her with Julie. Lynette learns in the present that something is wrong with Eddie and his family situation. When Barbara learns of Eddie's murders, she wants to go to the police, but before that she is strangled by her own son. | |||||||

Susan notices that Mike borrowed an enormous amount from Carlos. Susan and Gabrielle decide to teach Mike and Carlos a lesson. When Bree meets Sam's mother, she realizes Sam is a liar and apologizes to Andrew. Lynette takes Eddie into her home. There, however, she notices his enormous potential for aggression. Lynette then sends him to a psychologist. After Nick was hit by Patrick and is seriously injured in the hospital, Angie gets a visit at home from her ex-boyfriend, who threatens her. | |||||||

Susan and Mike decide to leave Wisteria Lane for financial reasons and rent their house. Angie and Danny are held in their apartment by Patrick. Nevertheless, Angie manages to convey a cry for help to Gabrielle. After Bree learns of Sam's unpredictability, Sam blackmailed her into telling the police that Andrew drove over to Juanita Solis Sr. to give him the ownership of her company. After Irina's body is found, Preston is accused of the act. When Lynette learns at the station that Barbara Orlofsky's body has also been found, Lynette wants to convey the message to Eddie, but quickly realizes that Eddie was the murderer of the women of Fairview. Gabrielle starts helping Angie escape Patrick's violence. However, Angie knows how to help herself and makes the bomb for Patrick so that it is installed in his ignition switch. Patrick is killed and Angie and Nick escape from Wisteria Lane to an unknown location. They don't take Danny with them, but send him to Ana in New York for his own freedom. Orson leaves Bree, unable to understand Bree's behavior, overwriting her business to Sam because of Andrew's misconduct. Then Bree confides in Gabrielle and tells her that Andrew killed her mother-in-law 11 years ago. Lynette gives birth to her daughter Paige under the violence of Eddie with his help and manages to convince Eddie to face the police. Susan leaves Wisteria Lane sadly, but she has no idea that the tenant of her house is Paul Young, who has been released from prison. |

In episode 19, it turns out that the strangler is Eddie Orlofsky, a good friend of Danny and Porter. The flashback episode "The Origin of a Monster" shows how Eddie became a murderer, what his motives are and that each of the housewives had to do with him at some point. He is shown killing his alcoholic mother after she found out that Eddie was responsible for the murders and attacks on young women in the area. In this episode, he also strangles an unknown prostitute because she laughed at him because he wanted to give her flowers. He is also the killer of Irina, Preston's ex-fiance, and another unknown woman. It also turns out that Eddie wanted to kill Susan rather than Julie, but he mistook the two and attacked Julie while she was taking out the trash. When he holds Lynette hostage and with his help she gives birth to her daughter Paige, Lynette can convince him to face the police. |
