Trivia

  • The creator of the series, Marc Cherry , had already planned at the end of the first season to let all the ghosts of the series appear in the series. He put this into practice in the series finale. However, many characters who died on the series did not appear in the finale.
  • The absence of Nicollette Sheridan , who was part of the main cast for five seasons and died in season 5, was criticized . Sheridan declined to perform due to an argument with the production team.
  • Some roles didn't show up because they had too much of an antagonistic role on the show. An example of this would be Tony Plana as Alejandro, Gabrielle's rapist.
  • Some roles have been shown as ghosts on Wisteria Lane, though they never lived on the street.
  • Karen's son is also shown with the ghosts. It was last mentioned in the first season and has never been shown to date. Karen only showed the Scavo twins a picture of their son, who died a few years ago. There, however, he had black hair and did not look like the ghost figure in the finale.
  • Kathryn Joosten actually died of cancer just a few months after impersonating a dead character. Lupe Ontiveros also died just months after impersonating a ghost in Desperate Housewives.

Denouement: After Gabriele's stepfather Alejandro tries to abuse her again, Carlos kills him with a candlestick. In order to cover up the crime and not have to go to jail, the two confess to their friends Bree, Lynette and Susan, and all five decide to bury Alejandro in the forest. Little by little, Mike, Ben, Tom and Bob also find out about it. The police are also getting closer and closer to clearing up the case. However, Detective Chuck Vance, with whom Bree had a brief relationship, is knocked over by a person in a car and dies shortly before he can file charges. As it later turns out, Orson was the driver of the car. Orson, who has been secretly following Bree the whole time, also knows what happened that night. He also learns important details from Bree. However, when she left him because she found out he was stalking her, he passed on all of his knowledge in a letter to the Fairview police. As a result, Bree is interrogated. The clues in the letter also reveal Alejandro's body, on which Bree's fingerprints can be found. When the trial of Bree begins, Bree's chances of an acquittal seem very good until the prosecution presents her suicide note to the court as evidence and she loses a great deal of her credibility. Her chances turn and she is close to being sentenced. First, Gaby wants to take the blame, as Carlos already has a criminal record, but it doesn't come to that. Karen McCluskey, who has returned with cancer, takes it all and takes the blame, but is not convicted of her serious illness. She dies shortly after Bree's trial.
