Detlef Uhlemann

Detlef Uhlemann ( Detlef Hugo Otto Uhlemann ; born September 24, 1949 in Essen ) is a former German long-distance runner .

He comes from the youth of the CSV 1910 Krefeld . From 1973 to 1975 he was German champion in the 10,000 meter run three times in a row . At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he was tenth over 5000 meters , while he was eliminated over 10,000 meters in the run.

He had his most successful season a year later. First, after two fifth places in 1974 and 1976, he won bronze at the Cross Country World Championships , then he won his fourth national title over 10,000 meters and finally he set an all-German record over the same distance with 27: 42.09 min. In 1974 he won the cross-country run on the shorter route at the Military World Championships. He was trained by Werner Niersmann , who, on the basis of long endurance training, operated primarily with speed runs at racing pace.

Detlef Uhlemann started for the LG Bonn / Troisdorf. Since January 2005 he has been the discipline trainer of the German Athletics Association (DLV) for the long distance segment.
