Detlev Lauscher (born September 30, 1952 in Übach-Palenberg , † January 15, 2010 in Basel ) was a German football player .

career

In 1971 the young striker moved from VfR Übach-Palenberg to 1. FC Köln . On September 18, 1971 he was first used in the Bundesliga by coach Gyula Lóránt at the home game against Eintracht Braunschweig . He came on for Johannes Löhr in the 36th minute and scored the goal to make it 2-0 in the 88th minute. Lauscher finished fourth with 1. FC Köln and in his debut year played eleven Bundesliga games with four goals. In total, he played 80 games in the Bundesliga in five years, in which he scored 10 goals. In his appearances in the UEFA Cup, he met the teams from Bohemians Dublin, Tottenham Hotspur, Dinamo Bucharest, FC Amsterdam and in 1974/75 in the semi-finals against rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach. When 1. FC Köln lost the DFB Cup final on June 23rd against Mönchengladbach with 1: 2 goals, Lauscher had previously played in the matches against SC Fortuna Köln and Eintracht Braunschweig. The attacker's last Bundesliga appearance was on April 10, 1976, when he was substituted on by then coach Georg Stollenwerk in the 70th minute for Matthias Brücken in the 3-2 win at Rot-Weiss Essen .

In the summer of 1976 he moved to FC Basel , where he was a successful goalscorer under coach Helmut Benthaus . Lauscher won the championship twice with FC Basel in 1977 and 1980 . He scored 66 goals in a total of 183 competitive games for FC Basel.

He played for FC Luzern from 1981 to 1984 and ended his career at Grasshopper Club Zurich in 1985 . He scored 68 goals in a total of 202 NLA games.

On January 15, 2010, Lauscher died of heart failure. Lauscher was married and had two daughters. After retiring, he stayed in Basel with his family. His grave is in the Hörnli cemetery in the municipality of Riehen , Canton Basel-Stadt .
