There is a German embassy in Panama City . Panama operates an embassy in Berlin and a consulate general in Hamburg. There are honorary consuls in Erzhausen , Dresden , Kiel and Sauerlach .

The new ambassador from Panama, Narziso Garay, leaves the Reichspräsidentpalais in Wilhelmstrasse with tribute from the Reichswehr.

Around 1860, Germans from Texas tried to settle in the province of Chiriquí as farmers, but failed.
