The German Bowling Union (DBU) is the leading umbrella organization for sports and competitive bowlers in Germany. It was founded in 1996 and has since organized and managed as a discipline association within the German Kegler- and bowling Federal the sport of bowling in Germany. The first president of the DBU was Elmar Wilbertz, who is now honorary president of the board. Of the 18 regional associations, the regional association of North Rhine-Westphalia has the most members. The DBU has a total of almost 10,500 members. Dieter Rechenberg has been President of the German Bowling Union since 2013.
tasks
The purpose and task of the DBU is:
- to promote and organize bowling as a competitive sport,
- To hold championships, tournaments and other bowling events on sport-appropriate bowling lanes that meet the necessary technical regulations,
- To organize German championships for active people, youth, juniors and seniors,
- to promote youth work according to the principles of the DKB youth regulation in the sense of the German Sports Youth and the German Olympic Sports Confederation ,
- to enable its members to participate in international championships.
