The German cannabis AG based in Berlin is under construction since 2014 private equity -Beteiligungsgesellschaft for companies in the hemp industry . It emerged from the shell of FAME AG , a former Munich film and music production company . The shares of the company, which had neither employees nor turnover in the 2015 financial year, are listed on the regulated market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (“ General Standard ”).

history

1999 in Munich the FAME Film & Media Entertainment AG founded as a company for "manufacturing, distribution and rental of sound, film, Internet, video and music products, and other audiovisual media products all kinds." It served as a stock exchange vehicle for the Munich-based IMA Medien GmbH , which it took over in 2000 through a merger . In the same year - at the height of the dotcom and “TMT” speculation bubble (technology, media and telecommunications) - the company went public in the Neuer Markt , raising around DM 18.5 million in capital.

After the company turns its funds into producing films like The Phantom , Rats - they are going to get you! and Deathwatch and the music production of Schandmaul and Florian Ast , among others , had invested and made high losses, the Executive and Supervisory Boards decided in 2002 to dissolve the company. The FAME share had been listed in the "prison" category of the satirical stock market website nemwax since 2001 because of numerous profit warnings .

After the winding up or sale of the film and music production business of the company, which has since been renamed FAME AG , the decision was made to realign its shell as an investment company in the field of renewable energies . A short-term loan was given to an insolvent district heating network operator in Saarland and a temporary solar system was operated in Collrunge (East Friesland). The company headquarters was relocated to Berlin . In 2013, FAME AG became insolvent and filed for insolvency , but withdrew it a few months later after an unexpected receipt of payment.

Industrially grown hemp

In search of a better business model, the company's owners took the legalization of the possession and sale of marijuana in several US states in 2014 as an opportunity to change the company's purpose to stake in companies in the hemp industry. The company was renamed to Deutsche Cannabis AG and tried to raise new capital. In 2015, the first investment was a stake in the cannabis holding company ManhattanCannaFund LLC in Florida and in 2016 a majority stake in the Hamburg start-up company CannyPets GmbH , which wants to offer pet food containing hemp.

In 2016, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) imposed a fine of 140,000 euros on Deutsche Cannabis AG because the company had failed to comply with its obligation to give advance notice and publish financial reports for four years.

In 2018 the company headquarters was relocated from Berlin to Hamburg.
