The German GT Championship , DGTM for short , was an automobile racing series for drivers of GT3 racing cars announced by the DMSB in 2010 and 2011 . The series combined existing German racing events from the ADAC GT Masters , the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring and the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring into one championship.

Only drivers of vehicles that complied with the GT3 regulations and the appropriate technical regulations for the respective event were entitled to points. GT3 vehicles that deviated minimally from the original GT3 specification due to the 24-hour special regulations were also rated. The placements in the individual racing series were weighted in order to evaluate the performance in the different formats fairly. The points of the top ten winners in a VLN race belonging to the GT championship were multiplied by a factor of 1.25, and for the 24-hour race by a factor of 1.5.
