Classification

With the 2016 season, new designations and regulations for the vehicle classes, formerly known as divisions, were introduced. The newly created Superproduction class represents the most powerful vehicles and is a continuation of Division 1 from last year. These touring cars use 1.6L turbo engines that are around 300 hp.
The small division is called the production class and also runs with 1.6L turbos, but with less racing modifications, so that around 230 hp should be possible. The old Super 1600 regulations , which Division 2 set in previous years, are no longer used, but live on in the ETCC .
Shortly before the start of the season, the series management announced the approval of a third vehicle class, which should be similar to the production class, but with 2-liter turbo engines. The participating vehicles initially come from the Scirocco R-Cup .
