German House (Olympia)

The German House is at the Olympic Games the central meeting place for the German Olympic team, their partners and guests from sports, business and the media. There are press conferences of the German Olympic Sports Confederation, live TV broadcasts of the competitions and various events.

The facility was first installed at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary by the National Olympic Committee and the former German Sports Confederation (since 2006: German Olympic Sports Confederation ).

Since the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​Deutsche Sport Marketing GmbH, the exclusive marketing agency of the German Olympic Sports Federation, has been responsible for the organization and implementation of the German House. In 2010 in Vancouver a Paralympic counterpart was established for the first time.

Messe Düsseldorf has been organizing the German Houses on behalf of Deutsche Sport Marketing GmbH since the 2000 Summer Olympics :

  • At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games , the German House was located in the immediate vicinity of the beach in the “Barra Blue Beach Point” beach club, on the edge of the Barra district in the south of Rio de Janeiro .
