Diachea is a cosmopolitan species of slime molds the myxogastria . It includes 14 species.

features

The fruiting bodies are sessile or stalked, spherical, cylindrical, spindle or rounded, conical sporocarp . Like the columella, the stem is tapered towards the tip and contains a lot of limestone. The permanent peridium consists of a single, lime-free and iridescent layer.

The common reticulated and adherent to the peridium scalp is free of lime. The spores are dark brown to black in mass, light or dark purple brown to yellow-green in transmitted light.

Diachea species are distributed worldwide, but only two species have been recorded in German-speaking countries. The most common type is Diachea leucopodia , which is found worldwide .

Systematics and research history

The genus was first described by Elias Magnus Fries in 1825 , the type species is 1797 as Stemonitis elegans Trentep. first described Diachea leucopodia .

The systematic position is controversial, the genus is also placed in the order of the Stemonitida by some authors .
