Diangelo Cicilia

Diangelo Cicilia (* 1971 in Curaçao , Netherlands Antilles ) is a Dutch guitarist living in Osaka (Japan) .

Having grown up on Curaçao , Diangelo Cicilia first studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Marin Kaaij , then continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Enno Voorhorts and with Eliot Fisk at the New England Conservatory in Boston . He has received scholarships from the Prince Bernhard Foundation and the Fonds voor de Podium Kunsten, among others . He primarily plays contemporary music, including numerous premieres of compositions dedicated to him, and is particularly committed to the youngest generation of Dutch composers. His extremely virtuoso playing is characterized by a sense of sound and sensitivity. Supported by the Donemus Foundation, he recorded a CD with works by Luciano Berio , Frank Crijns , Paul Goodman , Florian Magnus Maier and Jo Sporck . He also made numerous radio and television recordings, especially in the Netherlands, North and South America and Japan.
